This project is to measure the electronic properties of single molecules experimentally at very low temperature. We will investigate the molecular orbitals, density of states, band structures, as well as single-molecule manipulation and excitation.
The project involves operation of low-temperature instrument, data acquisition and data analysis. The student(s) will play different roles depending on their interest, skill and knowledge.
(1) Operating low-temperature STM
(2) Analyzing the tunneling spectra data.
