This project will investigate the impacts of metro rail on regional sociodemographic changes considering its networking features and the equilibrium in both the housing market and the labor market.

Applicant's Roles

- The applicants are expected to work on data gathering and data analysis using Excel, STATA, R, and ArcGIS under supervision.
- Collect information and data about metro rails and other public/private transportation systems from several websites.
- Visualize the transportation and urban changes in Hong Kong.
- Implement empirical methods to do analysis.

Applicant's Learning Objectives

The applicant will get an opportunity to develop his ability to gather data, analyze them and investigate crucial social problems (i.e., housing, commuting, labor) in urban development. He will gain considerable knowledge and techniques of applied economic research under the guidance of the supervisor.
