Indoor Localization and Mobile Computing
Project Description

GPS offers positioning for outdoor users, but it cannot be used indoor. Students in this project will develop with my R&D team novel and advanced localization techniques for indoor users. They will also work in real commercial setting for technology deployment and experimental trials. Machine learning techniques will be involved, along with Android/iOS programming for mobile computing.

Applicant's Roles

Students will learn advanced technologies we are studying and developing for indoor positioning. They will conduct research and development, simulation studies, write programs to develop a full system, and conduct trials with Android and iOS. Commercial and real-site trials will also be conducted.

Applicant's Learning Objectives

Ability to understand current indoor localization technologies; ability to develop indoor localization techniques; ability to conduct R&D in the area; ability to write mobile programs (Android and/or iOS) and system administration.
