Adult muscle stem cells reside in the quiescent state for a prolonged period of time and are essential for muscle repair upon muscle damage. The goal of this project is to elucidate the molecular regulation of muscle stem cell quiescence and activation.
The applicant will be expected to work with animal model (mouse) and perform various molecular and cell biology techniques in the laboratory.
Through journal discussion and active participation in the laboratory, the applicant will learn how to design and perform experiments appropriately. The applicant will be expected to have an improvement on skills such as critical thinking upon completion of this project.
