Optical Property Investigation of Nano/micro-structures
Project Description

Nano/micro-structures have demonstrated very difference optical properties with macroscopic structures, especially when optical wavelength is close to the feature size. This project aim to use novel fabrication process to achieve 3-D nano/micro-structures and understand their optical properties. The results can be used for building efficient photodetection and solar cell devices.

Applicant's Roles

The student is expected to work with graduate students on nanostructure fabrication and optical characterization, meanwhile analyze experimental results and participate in meetings and discussions.

Applicant's Learning Objectives

The student will be learning:
1) Fundamental optics;
2) Nano/micro-structure fabrication and characterization;
In addition, the student will learn how to perform research as a team player and have chance to practice presentation skill.
