Organic Molecular Beam Deposition is a widely-used technique in preparing organic thin films. The project aims at investigating the thermal properties of various organic molecules by means of organic molecular beam Deposition.
The students will operate ultra-high vacuum apparatus including vacuum pumps and organic molecular beam evaporators to study the thermal sublimation of different organic molecules and measure the UV absorption spectra of the evaporated molecules.
To learn ultra-high vacuum techniques.
To operate organic molecular beam evaporator.
To measure and interpret UV absorption data.
