Atomically thin layered semiconductors and their spin-valley property

Project Description:Using quantum mechanics and solid state physics to explain experimental results of spin and valley transport under high magnetic fields and cryogenic temperatures in atomically thin layered semiconductors, such as MoS2 and WSe2 crystals.

Applicant's Roles:Learn the fundamental physics of the quantum mechanics and electron transport properties in two-dimensional semiconductors. Understand the electron behaviors in two-dimensional systems, particular in high magnetic field and low temperatures.  
Applicant's Learning Objectives:1. Solid state physics with strong analytical background 2. Numerical techniques for analyzing experimental data 3. Participate low temperature experiments
