Project Description:
Minimum speed for solids suspension (Njs) is a critical parameter in most solid-liquid mixing processes. Most continuous processes (eg CSTR) will have to operate above this speed to avoid bottom fillet formation and the solid-liquid mass transfer per unit energy input is at the maximum at Njs.

Applicant's Roles:
The candidate(s) is expected to conduct a literature survey on just suspension speed and its relationship with the particles to be suspended. He or she will use the data to be collected to verify the model/ mechanism proposed in various literature.
Applicant's Learning Objectives:
Literature Search
Data Analysis
Physical/ Mathematical Model Building
How to apply what the candidate(s) has learnt to solve real life problem
