Partial differential equations (PDEs) defined on surfaces appear in many fields of science and technology. Examples include modeling the diffusion of chemicals in growth of cells, texture mapping in computer graphics and simulating multiphase flows with surfactants. The project aims to and/or apply new numerical method to solve PDEs on surfaces. Student might choose to develop a new algorithm, or to develop a new data structure for existing numerical methods, or to explore new application.

Student is expected to program in C/C++/MATLAB. Programming experience is a must.
