Quality Control via Vision System

Project Description:This project will develop a quality control system using vision system, image recognition, and data analytics techniques. We will focus on an application for aircraft tractors in the airport, and develop a prototype of the automatic inspection of wheel nuts by image recognition while tractors are on the road.
Course type: UROP1100  
Applicant's Roles:The student will help to develop a prototype of the automatic inpection system using Labview. Special requirements: 1. Basic skill of computer programming, e.g. C, C++ or visual basic, etc. 2. Knowing the software Labview would be a plus, but not required. 3. Experience in electronic device control, e.g. Arduino or similar, would be a plus (but not required).  
Applicant's Learning Objectives:The student will learn the techniques of vision system, imapge recognition, and data analytics and the software Labview, through the development of an automatic inspection prototype.
