Nanoionic materials have been employed with great success in batteries (http://www.a123systems.com/) and solid oxide fuel cells. However, the nanoionic field is still missing a fundamental study of the impedance response of multidimensional, nanosized systems. The project involves the study of the alternate current response of nanoionic systems by means of computational models. Model and computational code will be provided by the instructor.
The student is requested to run one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element code for various model parameters.
The student is asked to present his/her numerical results in a simple and coherent way
