Using interference microscopy to study dewetting relaxations
Project Description
Dewetting dynamics at soft interfaces has recently attracted great attention due to their unique physical properties. Compared to dewetting at stiff surfaces, soft wetting dynamics is complicated by the moving contact ridge near contact points. While several theoretical models have been proposed for the dissipation mechanisms of soft dewetting, direct measurements of such dynamic processes are experimentally challenging. In this project, the student will study this phenonmenon through interference microscopy.
