Optical Property Investigation of Nano/micro-structures

Project Description:Nano/micro-structures have demonstrated very difference optical properties with macroscopic structures, especially when optical wavelength is close to the feature size. This project aim to use novel fabrication process to achieve 3-D nano/micro-structures and understand their optical properties. The results can be used for building efficient photodetection and solar cell devices.

Applicant's Roles:The student is expected to work with graduate students on nanostructure fabrication and optical characterization, meanwhile analyze experimental results and participate in meetings and discussions.  
Applicant's Learning Objectives:The student will be learning: 1) Fundamental optics; 2) Nano/micro-structure fabrication and characterization; In addition, the student will learn how to perform research as a team player and have chance to practice presentation skill.
